1. NATURE AND PURPOSE: Graphite coated canvas is a canvas with a layer of graphite adhered to it with the purpose of reducing friction on the sanding machines. Graphite coated canvas is a simply installable accessory that helps you put more pressure in your sanding machine and still maintain belt speed.
2. STORAGE AND HANDLING: Graphite coated canvas should be stored at room temperature (ideal 24º C) in dry indoor conditions (relative humidity level between 35 – 50%). Graphite coated canvas must be warmed up to the temperature 24º C before any handling because at low temperatures the graphite coated canvas will become brittle and crack. If graphite coated canvas is used on curved surfaces, it should be heated to 40º C, because this will assure utmost flexibility without cracking. Graphite coated canvas may work at lower temperatures than the recommended temperature for mounting, but graphite coated canvas should not be used above 149º C as it will start to break down.

4. MAINTENANCE AND REPLACEMENT: Ensure that graphite coated canvas and felt used under it are inspected in sanding machines regularly every week. If necessary (there are foreign particles in the graphite coated canvas for example), the graphite coated canvas may be sanded with an abrasive paper (P120). If graphite coated canvas is worn unevenly or worn out, it needs to be replaced. The useful life of the graphite coated canvas depends on many factors:
the application and setup of the sanding machines
the material being sanded
type and brand of the sanding belt being used
5. DIMENSIONS AND ORDERING: The width of graphite coated canvas is between 25 mm – 914 mm. Standard widths are 150 mm and 200 mm. The length of the roll of graphite coated canvas is 46.72 m. Graphite coated canvas is sold by the running metre. When placing an order you need to know the type of graphite coated canvas you want to order and also the width and the length of the roll. There is no minimum order and most orders are filled within two weeks. Graphite coated canvas with PSA glue (with tape) is available upon request.
