The brush bodies of the sanding strips and support brushes are principally made from plastic but it is also possible to get them with a metallic brush body. In case of the different shape and dimensions of the brush bodies, the key ways or grooves dimensions of the special hubs or discs (where the sanding strips and support brushes are meant to be) must be observed.

Sanding strips are flexible sanding cloth strips, which are glued to the plastic body of the abrasive strip brush system with a special gluing system. The material and grit size of the abrasive is selected according to the intended application. The following materials and grit size of the abrasive are available:

Aluminium Oxide 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 220, 240, 280, 320, 400, 600
Silicon Carbide 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 220, 240, 320, 400
Zirconium 24, 36, 40, 60, 80, 120

The sanding strips are available from 22 mm to 87 mm high, slitted width 3 mm, 4 mm, 7 mm and 20 mm. Unslitted sanding strips can also be ordered. The sanding strips are rounded at the contact point and are approximately 5 mm longer than the support brushes.

The support brushes are the so-called tampico fibres, which is a natural product and usually made from cactus thorns. Support brushes are strong, will not scratch and do not have the so-called memory effect i.e they keep the original position if not under a load.
